Crown Fine Art provided the full logistics coordination and art handling services for the packing, transport and installation of over 500 works to the Museum of San Domenico in Forlì for the important exhibition ‘Art Deco: The Roaring Twenties in Italy’.
Exploring the artistic production that characterised the luxurious, fashionable and international lifestyle of the bourgeoisie during ten unrestrained ‘roaring’ years, the exhibition presented works celebrating the Art Deco phenomena that travelled through Italy and Europe.
Located in an old convent, Crown Fine Art was responsible for the exhibition’s complete logistics with our experts providing full care for everything from large-scale pictorial works by Galileo Chini and motorcars, to smaller scale decorative ceramics by Richard Ginori, lighting and jewellery.
The spread of works were representative of the taste and style which influenced the entire production of decorative arts in the 1920s and early 1930s and the artistic culture of Italy since - contributing to the birth of design and ‘Made in Italy’. Among the highlights as well as logistical challenges was Gabriele d'Annunzio's Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8B cabriolet. Owned by the Italian writer and poet, this Italian luxury car made between 1931 and 1934, is only one of three 8Bs that are known to exist.
Crown Fine Art successfully completed the installation on time, opening this landmark exhibition to the public at large with a satisfied team at the Museum of San Domenico.
