The Mauritshuis is home to world-famous paintings by Dutch and Flemish masters from the Golden Age, containing works by Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt van Rijn and Jan Steen.
Between 2012 - 2014, the Museum underwent two years of renovation work to its magnificent building in the heart of The Hague. During this time, its renowned collection of important artworks travelled across the world. Crown Fine Art was responsible for managing the Museum’s travelling exhibitions, handling with care the Mauritshuis masterpieces and among them was one of the world’s most iconic works, Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring.
Our team of experts transported all the works to several international locations, including Den Haag,Tokyo, Kobe, San Francisco, Atlanta, New York and Bologna, before returning the treasures back to their newly-renovated home. Responsible for the care of the Girl with a Pearl Earring for two years, Crown Fine Art's specialist expertise ensured the work was consistently handled with care until returned home.
